The 15th September marks International Democracy Day. In our first Federalist Online Lunch after the summer break, we would like to take this day as an opportunity to shed light on various aspects of democracy. What does democracy actually mean?How does one do politics in the midst of diversity. How do we in Europe deal with parties that do not want to discuss anything, that want to change the transformation from a democratic, open and pluralistic society and discourse towards autocracy, that try to intervene in the system and change democracy?In recent times, more and more elections in the Member States have become "elections of destiny" for Europe. In spring, all of Europe looked to France, now to Italy, which will elect a newparliament on 25 September.
