Recent research has debunked the notion that 10,000 steps per day are necessary to maintain good health. It turns out that the number 10,000 was a marketing ploy, not based on any evidence, but which caught on throughout the world. However, behind the notion of walking a certain number of steps is an essential truth: that exercise is important to health. How many steps or other exercise is debatable. We get distracted by trivial detail in our faith too, arguing about specific bits of the Bible, and missing the essential truth. Phil explains, with an example.
