16 - Women's Equality Day: How I Never Let Fear or Stereotypes Stop Me
In this episode of the Julie Laughton Living Podcast, we're discussing Women's Equality Day and what it means to me. *Happy Women's Equality Day!* On this day, we celebrate the hard-won gains of women in the fight for equality. We also recognize that there is still much work to be done. In the United States, women were not granted the right to vote until 1920. And even today, women still face discrimination in the workplace, in the healthcare system, and in other areas of life. But we are making progress. More and more women are holding leadership positions, and more and more laws are being passed to protect women's rights. On this Women's Equality Day, let us recommit ourselves to the fight for equality. Let us celebrate the achievements of women, and let us work together to create a world where all women are free and equal. *Here are some ways to celebrate Women's Equality Day:* * Learn about the history of the women's rights movement. * Support organizations that are working to advance women's rights. * Talk to your friends and family about the importance of gender equality. * Stand up against sexism and discrimination. * Vote for candidates who support women's rights. *Together, we can make a difference!* *Here are some quotes about Women's Equality Day:* * "We are not born equal, but we must make equality our goal." - Eleanor Roosevelt * "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." - Eleanor Roosevelt * "A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform." - Diane Mariechild * "The right of women to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy." - Shirley Chisholm * "We must never forget that the most important battles we fight are those fought within our own hearts." - Malala Yousafzai *Happy Women's Equality Day!*
