205. How I Ran 48.6 Miles in 4 Days: #TheDopeyChallenge
“It's the possibility that keeps me going, not the guarantee.” ― Nicholas Sparks That’s right- 48.6 miles in for days- also known as The Dopey Challenge, by Run Disney! I am excited to share how and why I took this challenge on as I am not a competitive runner, nor had I run more than a few miles at a time in years! I break down my experience with the race itself, all of the logistics, and my personal strategy on executing a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and full marathon in the span of 4 days. In addition, I share my nutrition and fueling, suggested gear and shoes, training strategy, and maintaining a possibility mindset. Most importantly I share on what I really gained from completing this challenge and it had nothing to do with running or fitness. If you are thinking about taking on any challenge (fitness related or not), I say, do it! Regardless of how it shakes out, there are so many wins even before the challenge starts- listen to this podcast and get motivated to say yes. Highlights: Doing hard things. Completing a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and full marathon in 4 days. Running through Epcot, Disney World, The Magic Kingdom, and more. Rain, shine, darkness, or dead batteries- we run. Recovery, possibility mindset, nutrition, and gear. Focus, me time, commitment, and steping/leaping outside of the box. Sucking at something new. Gratitude.205.
