Our introduction to Perry occurred at a 1,000,000 Cups networking session in Denver. With his service dog by his side and a positive demeanor, Perry's presence drew our attention.After an initial interaction at the networking event, Perry's unique story intrigued us, and we agreed to sit down for an interview a few days later. Little did we know that the large backpack he carried held all his possessions, as Perry was experiencing homelessness, living in a small gully next to the freeway that he called his camp.Though Perry may be small in stature, his heart, ideas, and life experience fill any room he enters. From the day he was born, Perry faced adversity—his father's violent act in the hospital led to immediate foster care and separation from his birth parents. Over the course of his childhood, he navigated through 21 foster homes by the age of four, until he was eventually adopted.Despite moments of stability, Perry found himself in a boys' camp and was subsequently sent from one foster home to another, all while grappling with bad choices and ill-advised decisions. His life took numerous twists and turns, yet today, he stands as a creative entrepreneur, a business person, and a media mogul in the making, serving a range of clients and businesses through social media and creative endeavors.In a vulnerable and deeply moving part of our conversation, Perry lets down his guard and opens up about the many rejections he has faced in life.
