Joel Loosli is the owner of AK Clothing Company and co-owner of MetaAlaska metal arts. Joel makes incredible designs and recently opened the studio and boutique - The Cove in downtown Anchorage.<br/><br/>"I am an Alaskan-born designer living in Anchorage. I graduatedwith a degree in Visual Communications from the Art Instituteof Seattle. I have been working as a designer for the past 20+ years.My Alaskan-themed apparel company, AK Clothing Company(formerly known as Claimjumper AK) has recently opened a storefront in the Peterson Tower in downtown Anchorage. It is in a spacecalled The Cove.I try to create visually appealing designs that immediately grab yourattention with use of color and composition then subtly reveal theAlaskan themed elements. I want you to like what you are looking at first then hopefully you realize it contains Alaskan elements. With somuch of the Alaskan apparel out there seemingly aimed at theundiscerning tourist, I took it upon myself to give Alaskans someoptions that were a bit more classy yet still allow you to show someof your state pride.Alaska is such an amazingly beautiful and unique place and I feel itonly makes sense to create designs that are equally as dynamic.When I am feeling the need for inspiration I can easily take a look outmy window or go for a walk/drive.
