Ben Bell | NZ's youngest ever Major, Gore
Exclusive, first-time podcast for New Zealand's youngest (ever) major, Ben Bell. Withstanding immense public attention and uniting his council together after a rocky start, its a gift to have had the opportunity to hear from his perspective how he's grown this past year. Ben has accomplished many things and worn many hats – during this korero we touch upon those roles, in particular, his position as the major of Gore, a beautiful town in NZ’s South Island. Most importantly however, I get to chat to a fellow 24-year-old, who has a job, just like me, that has propelled him into the media spotlight. For our US listeners, I must clarify, it is not common for 24-year old’s to sit as national politicians in New Zealand. Ben became the youngest major elected last November, 2022, at 23-years old; and not without some classic tall poppy commentary which he tackles head on. Listen to the full interview on Spotify, iHeart Radio, or Apple Podcasts. #youngest #major #gore #politics #nzpolitics #politician #bullying #podcast #tallpoppytalk #tallpoppysyndrome #tallpoppy #mentalhealthmatters #aotearoa #newzealand #mentalhealthawareness
