BOSS with Nadya Okamoto, Period Power Author & Co-Founder August
Welcome Nadya Okamoto, Co-Founder of August and Period Power Author to BOSS! We just reconnected at the Fortune MPW NextGen event and I knew that I had to have her on BOSS. I also owe her a huge thank you as she also convinced me to turn the LinkedIn series into a podcast! We talk about being a founder in her teens and 20s, employee heart checks, humility about what she doesn't know, destigmatizing periods, launching at Target, and overall startup culture."I started my career when I was 16.. and started building a nonprofit called Period that was really focused on addressing period poverty and, working through service, education, advocacy, political advocacy around access to period care products.""I think that it's probably fueled by the fact that we live in such an f-ed up patriarchal world where we're still having to fight for even the right to talk about periods openly, freely in classrooms, confidently."Did you hit play yet on LinkedIn or did you download a podcast episode to listen to on a walk, in your car, or during your commute?Nadya is also Harvard Undergrad Class of '21. Who can help me get the BOSS podcast in front of the Harvard student community, the Career Center, and every student career center? Maybe it's time to start BOSS podcast college ambassadors ;) or at least someone to help me with Canva and marketing promotion!#leadership #boss #careeradvice #startupfounder #boss
