Mrs Smita, who herself comes from a healthcare background, found it overwhelming to find out her daughter's diagnosis, knowing that it is now a lifelong condition. Both parents found it easy to accept their daughter's condition when they were told by Navya, who has accepted type 1 diabetes as part of her life. Mrs Smita has gone through the real time challenges that every parent experiences, the challenge of dealing with a teenager. Navya as a child and now as a teenager are many different personalities, but her parents have been there for her through thick and thin.
