Babbled about this Cartola album, a samba relic for its backstory and for being the closest representation of the sound would be like if you're living right across from the place that it's creating it. Cartola is a tragic figure, his records only saw the light of day a decade prior to his demise and they pretty much sit as the foundation of the genre to this day. He's like the Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan and Frank Sinatra of samba united in one humble bon vivant.
