Christ Crucified

Paul argues that God used the foolishness of man to bring salvation to His own. If the rulers of this world understood what would result from their crucifixion of the Lord of Glory, they would never have allowed it. What they hoped to accomplish, the ridding the world of Jesus, backfired on them. Jesus played the Jews against the Romans and controlled every detail of His crucifixion, even to what became of His garments to fulfill OT prophecy. Second century Christians rallied on Psalm 96-10, using the Septuagint which contains a gloss, thus reading, -Say among the nations, 'The LORD reigns from the tree.'- Indeed-
