Peter succumbed to the pressures of man. v11-12-c. Many, including Barnabas, Paul's missionary companion, also caved in. v13--- Believers, set your mind on God's interests, not man's. Matt 16-23-- Christ's warning- He urges us to watch and pray. Matt 26-41---3. ERRANT GOSPEL CONDUCT CORRECTED BY THE CHURCH -v14---a. In the driver's seat but not irrevocable.-b. Peter's conduct inconsistent with his belief. v14b-c. Paul censured his fellow apostle and those who took the same position. v14a--- Believers, stand up for the truth, even though you stand alone. -- Christ's example- He stood alone against His accusers. Matt 26-56---4. THE INERRANT GOSPEL CHAMPIONED BY THE CHURCH--a. Imperfect church but not an incompetent protector.-b. Peter in Acts 15-6-11 is different compared to the Peter in v12.--- Believers, stand up again for the truth, even though you fail again.-- Christ's assurance- He is always with us. Matt 28-20--- Unbelievers, Christ did not come to save the perfect, but He perfects those He saves. -- Christ's mission- He came to call sinners to repentance. Matt 9-12---5. CONCLUSION
