Derailed by unpreparedness
There is a famous saying which many have attributed to Anurag Shourie that, “A half-truth is even more dangerous than a lie. A lie, you can detect at some stage, but half a truth is sure to mislead you for long.” This unfortunately has plagued many in times past and continues to do so today. The future we all ought to seek, must absolutely include the decision of where we will spend eternity. As we wrap up our conversations on 'The Don't series,' we look at the importance of preparing not just for our worldly life affairs, but also for eternity.I would like to believe that everybody who wants to make something meaningful of their life, knows the importance of planning for the future. However, we seldom consider the importance of preparing for today. Truth is, for the person who does not prepare for today, 'tomorrow never comes.' Eternity begins today not tomorrow. Thus, in every aspect of your life, you will be well served by making decisions that impact today. I encounter many who have not made a decision for Jesus but are hoping to get to a place of greater success in life. To such I ask, can one truly be successful and at the same time fail at their life's ultimate goal/purpose?My dear listener, don't let the world sell you short on the success you were created for. Success in life is not in the abundance of our possessions. Again, 'half-truths are more dangerous than lies.'
