Destroying our High Places

The Israelites' addiction to pagan high places is well-known. These focal-points for god-worship included shrines in the hills and monoliths on the plains. They all use elevation as a suitable way to approach divine beings, and this was no doubt something programmed into the minds of men. God himself used height to represent his most-high nature. Yet he did outlaw the high places, and sadly even many of the best kings left the high places untouched. What of our high places, though-- That is, the high places of sin we have erected in our hearts. Have we been ruthless enough in pulling them down--
