This week our guest is Nick Gravagne, who has over 40 years of experience in piano design and building. His main work is focused on rebuilding and manufacturing custom soundboards. In this episode, he walks us through his day-to-day involvement within the piano industry. 
Nick talks about the importance of being a good diagnostician when it comes to being a piano technician. He says the first thing to figure out is whether the problem is in the box or in the hammer. He then goes on to explain the process of doing that in a granular manner.

He has authored numerous articles for the piano trade and has been a featured instructor at piano technical seminars all over the U.S. His business currently revolves around rebuilding and manufacturing custom soundboards for the piano rebuilding trade.
