Ann Rohmer is with Environment Canada’s Senior Climatologist David Phillips with the science behind poor air quality caused by wildfires, and with Dr. Victoria Chan – Respirologist Mackenzie Health discussing the health implications of wildfire smoke and poor air quality. Ann Rohmer speaks with Julie Christiansen – psychotherapist and author of THE RISE OF RAGE, why is road rage on the rise? What are the triggers and what are some coping strategies? Kevin Frankish looks into a new report released by MediaSmarts, Canada's centre for digital media literacy, calls for more support and resources for parents, teachers and caring adults so they can help youth meet the challenges of growing up in the digital age. Young Canadians are informed and responsible digital citizens who navigate their safety, well-being and privacy online with the support of the adults in their lives. Youth expect more from platforms and technology companies to help them feel included, safe and informed online. Shaliza Bacchus is with a York Univeristy Professor to discuss preparing students for life after high school. How to study? Living away from home? Rigors of college/university workload? Glynn Perkins looks at STORYWALK, brought to life by Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) and the City’s Public Works teams, StoryWalk combines the joys of reading with the wonders of nature. With each step along the trail, the story unfolds one page at a time in this immersive experience. This exciting global initiative promotes literacy, health and exercise in communities around the world. Jim Lang has a discussion with Amy Laski about Tween Hockey. There is a severe shortage of accessible ice time at city-run arenas in Toronto. The shortage is impacting all ages but is particularly difficult for girls entering their teen years. Amy Laski is not only a hockey mom to three girls, but she also plays herself. She has spent the last three years stickhandling her way through legacy process and bureaucratic red tape to try and secure more ice time.
