Ep 180: Rest is so much more than napping with Lori Curran
Rest. What's your relationship with it, my friend?

When I think about rest I immediately think about naps. And, honestly, I've never been a fan of taking naps. Lori is here today to share with us how incredibly broad the notion of resting is and can be and I'm so thrilled to share this conversation with you.

In this episode you'll hear:

- what rest is
- the lengthy (and non-exhaustive) list of what can constitute rest
- why it's important to recognise that physical and mental rest are different (not to mention social, spiritual and emotional rest)
- why unexpected activities like going to the footy or the basketball can be restful for some
- why resting can feel so hard to come by for so many of us
- the cultural messaging and conditioning that contributes to our weird feelings about rest
- how to grant yourself the permission to rest
- and so much more.

Connect with Lori to find out more about her upcoming re:st & re:cover 3 day immersion in Melbourne in February 2023 and her Nature & Nurture hiking retreat coming up in June 2023 in Tasmania.

You'll find her via her website and on Instagram

Mentioned in this episode:
Lori's previous episodes on SelfKind with Erica Webb - episodes 54 and 104 which you can find here or via your favourite podcast app.

Dr Sandra Dalton-Smith's Ted Talk: The real reason why we are tired and what to do about it

Share your thoughts with me over on Instagram or via my website.
Want the video version?
