EP 38: Singapore GP Race Reflection - Carlos' 1000 IQ, POINTS For Liam Lawson, Red Bull In Trouble?!
Welcome to the latest episode of Track Limits Podcast, where Henny, Feven, Swish, and Mikey share their thoughts on the recently concluded Singaporean Grand Prix.
The Red Bull dominance has officially ended, and we have ourselves a new winner, Carlos Sainz, in the 2023 season. There are a lot of speculations going on right now as to why Red Bull performed poorly all weekend long; was it the new TD regulations, the wrong setup, or track characteristics? Let's just say the Red Bull team will be scrambling to find a solution before the next race.
Carlos Sainz has become a new driver since the summer break. With back-to-back pole positions and now a race win, it can be said that he is the number one driver on the Ferrari team right now. Alongside Carlos was his best mate, Lando Norris, finishing in P2 (thanks to Carlos's brilliant move to keep Lando in the DRS). In just his third race and arguably one of the most challenging tracks of the season, Liam Lawson finished in P9 and earned himself his first career F1 points.
Mercedes also looked very locked in this weekend, and both were fighting for a podium finish at the end. George Russell made a costly mistake on the last lap that cost him a P3 finish (a rare mistake to see from a well-seasoned driver like Russell), but confident he will bounce back very soon.
On the flip side, our team made a bet to see which Ferrari driver would come out on top, and the losing host would have to participate in a hot sauce challenge. Swish and Henny chose Charles Leclerc and had to pay the price of having a scorching mouth throughout the episode.
We also have a special guest, Craig Scarborough, join us on this episode to give his thoughts on Alpine's request for engine equalization for the 2026 regulation changes. If you haven't already seen our full episode with Craig, make sure to stream it from our page.
