Ep.62 - How Reflection can Change our Life (Ft. Rosemary Gattuso)
Rosemary Gattuso completed a Master of Law at the University of Technology, Sydney, in 2005, with a focus on dispute resolution practices, including mediation and restorative justice. She originally studied mediation and negotiation theory at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School in 2004, where she also mediated small claims cases in District Courts throughout Boston, Massachusetts.Rosemary has been a researcher in the Law and Conflict Management Faculty of LaTrobe University. Since 2011 she has worked as a mediator for the Family Court in government-funded centres and private practice across Sydney, which led her to undertake postgraduate studies in couples and family therapy, which fostered her interest and self-study in childhood trauma and neuroscience. As a Restorative Engagement Facilitator, she is on panels for various Commonwealth agencies, including the Defence Force Ombudsman, the National Redress Scheme and the Stolen Generations Redress Scheme. Her extensive experience working in the Family Court, and her continued commitment to professional and personal development, have placed Rosemary in a unique position to observe, learn, reflect, and share. Her take on self-reflection and managing adversity through the eyes of a trauma- informed Family Court mediator is the subject of her first book, currently in the process of being published.Rosemary’s practice draws on being present with clients as they work through their challenges, which has given her a greater appreciation of the complexity and uniqueness of simply being human. To find Rosemary: Instagram: @rosemarygattuso
