F*ck Yeah to Birth Stories with Ryan DiMartino
Ryan DiMartino, founder of World of Difference Doula, joins Robin and Sarah to share their birthing and adoption journey. We covered so much ground in our conversation with Ryan that we have broken it into two parts. In today’s episode, we dive into Ryan’s pregnancy, after doctors told them testosterone would cause them to become infertile. Ryan’s experience navigating the health care system as a 21 year old, trans pregnant person speaks volumes about the disparity in care and systematic scrutiny folks receive based on their perceived identity. Ryan’s birthing experience, their subsequent surrogacy, and their role in an open adoption with their children have given them an uniquely insightful perspective on adoption, reproductive care, and the like. Sarah and Robin also share about their own, much different, birthing stories.Join us next week to hear more about the adoption industry and the experience of birthing parents and adopted children in that system.
