Finally Seeing God's Hand

This section once again displays the manipulative side of Jacob. He by superstition and hard work gain the blessing of great possessions. However, this angers the family and Jacob realizes by direct statement of God that it is time to leave. In his speech of departure Jacob has a chance to look back and he sees God's hand in everything. He finally sees what he had been missing all this time. He is much like us who do our things and it finally is at times where we have to stop and look back that we suddenly see God's glory in all that He has accomplished.
