From Afghanistan To Ground Zero: Decisions Leading up to 9/11, A Reflection.
Decisions determine direction. Prior to 9/11/01 there were key decisions made by US Presidents. To fund the Afghan resistance against a Russian invasion, to launch a war against Iraq in '91, to not kill Osama bin Laden in 1998. All tough decisions. Decisions that continue to ripple through time with consequences. Decisions worth examining. On Equal Matters, host Rob Hunter, takes a view from above at the consequential decisions related to the September 11 attacks. Not to blame. To think differently. To spot the patterns of these presidential decisions and learn from them. To help us be more informed voters. In part 1 of a 2 part series, we rewind the clock 22-years before 9/11 on the 22nd year of being reminded to 'never forget.' Never forget means leaning from those past decisions to apply them today. It starts back in 1979 when the Russian invaded Afghanistan. America paid for the resistance. The resistance that is related to Al Qaeda. 44-years later, America is funding another resistance against Russian aggression. This time in Ukraine. Which makes it a perfect time to take a look at decisions by Carter, Reagan, H.W. Bush, and Clinton. Equal Matters is a show about realism, depth, and knowledge. Thanks for joining us. <br />
