HBO's Winning Time with author Jeff Pearlman, who wrote the book the show is based on
Yes, this is a Wizards podcast and not a Lakers podcast, but this episode is for Jahadi and Matt who are both huge fans of the HBO show Winning Time and the book it's based on, "Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s." The author of that book, Jeff Pearlman (@jeffpearlman), joined the podcast this week to talk about writing the book and the making of the show. If you're a basketball fan or a prestige television fan in general you're going to enjoy this one because of all of the stories and behind-the-scenes insights into creating the best basketball show on television. Jeff shares stories about trying to get Kareem to talk to him for the book, Jerry West's portrayal, how certain actor's got their roles, the charisma of Quincy Isaiah who plays Magic Johnson, who can actually hoop from the cast, attending the premier, and how he got so many good stories from inside the locker room.
