Xie Lian goes to the heavenly court to visit Shi QingXuan, only to find that he has been tied to his bed by Shi Wudu. Xie Lian and Ming Yi help him escape using Ming Yi’s heavenly shovel. They run to the Rain Master’s domain, and Xie Lian learns the truth behind Shi Qingxuan’s ascension. Shi Wudu used an evil spell to switch the fate of his brother and another person named He Sheng. Shi Qingxuan was able to ascend, while He Sheng became a resentful ghost that devoured the Reverend of Empty Words and absorbed his abilities.
