His Focus Was Legendary In The NBA with Author Eli Ihej
In this episode I sit down with Author and Freelance Journalist, Eli Ihej. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he developed a childhood passion for basketball and the Lakers that he combined with his years of freelance journalism alongside his interest in wellness and psychology! Eli recently released his new book titled, What Kobe Left Behind “The Playbook From An Extraordinary Life.” In our conversation, Eli shares why writing this book became a labor of love and an opportunity to share Kobe Bryant’s story at a deeper level. He invites his readers to journey through their own story along with his and Bryant’s by asking this question, “What if the amazing stories hidden within Kobe Bryant’s legacy can turn you into a champion?” Yes, what if? Dr. Caroline Leaf, best-selling author of Switch On Your Brain and Clean Up Your Mental Mess gives this review, “This is one of those rare pieces of inspired storytelling that educates as much as it captivates. I’m not a basketball fan, but the way Eli highlights Bryant’s heart-wrenching and uplifting episodes kept me reading to the very end.” As we move through our conversation, Ihej shares with us why and how empathy extends far beyond a counseling environment into the arenas of alpha-male pro athlete environments to better themselves as leaders like Bryant did in his own life. We learn as Bryant’s career evolved, so did his need to receive and give empathy. This power source, discovered of empathy, became instrumental in his career. Eli reveals disciplines of Bryant’s he adapted in his own life and the impact it made personally and professionally. During the writing of his book, his own life transformed! He believes the change he experienced is a transformation also available to you and me. Eli Ihej passionately draws us in his book, What Kobe Left Behind, to receive more than an intimate view of Kobe’s extraordinary life. On the edge of your seat while reading, you’ll get the keys to unlock your potential from the Mamba and become an MVP in your world! Connect with Juliette Here! Connect with Eli on Instagram Here!
