htxt.africast – Gamescom 2023 brought the hype
We don’t want to jinx it, but this year is already shaping up to be a great one when it comes to AAA games. With Final Fantasy XVI, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Tears of the Kingdom, and Baldur’s Gate 3 all impressing this year, there have been several titles that have delivered on their promise, despite AAA games being more expensive than ever these days. With that in mind, we looked at the numerous announcements and trailers showcased in Cologne, Germany for Gamescom 2023 for this edition of the africast. The week-long event is still on the go, but many trailers have seen the light of day, making us both intrigued and excited for what the rest of the year holds. Among the titles that have piqued our interest is the massive DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 in the form of Phantom Liberty. Looking quite slick and closer to what the finished product that was promised to players instead of the very broken version of 2020. With the members of the africast split on whether to get Phantom Liberty when it releases on 26th September, it will be interesting to see how CD Projeckt RED’s latest offering performs. Also on the agenda for the africast are some of the week’s biggest stories, including SK Telecom’s thoughts on the rollout of 5G, YouTube looking into AI-generated music, and some insight on SA’s cybersecurity skills landscape. MENTIONED IN THIS AFRICAST: 5G has failed to live up to the hype says Korean telco YouTube wants to make AI-made music legitimate What skills are in short supply within SA’s cybersecurity industry The 10 best new trailers from Gamescom 2023 The Final Shape is Destiny’s Endgame The post htxt.africast – Gamescom 2023 brought the hype appeared first on htxt.
