In Isaiah 44-9-23, we are shown 2 components of idolatry and those who make idols.-I. The reality of idolatry and idol makers is full of irony and folly.-A. Idol makers delight in their work and expect profit, but they only gain-open shame -vs. 9-11-.-B. Idol makers require tools -vs. 12, 13- and their strong arm fails -v. 12-.-C. Idol makers create in their own image -v. 13-.-D. Idol makers depend on trees created and sustained by God -v. 14-.-E. Idol makers worship God's gifts rather than God Himself -vs. 15-17-.-F. Idol makers think they see and understand but God has shut their hearts-and eyes, so they have no wisdom -vs. 18-20-.--II. The consequences of idolatry and idol makers must be remembered by God's-people, for Yahweh says--A. You are my servant, and I will not forget you -v. 21-.-B. I have blotted out your sin -v. 22a-b-.-C. You must repent if you commit idolatry -v. 22c-.-D. Even creation sings because God's glory is displayed in His salvation--v. 23-.
