Parashat Va’YeraThis week’s reading is EXPLODING with topics, fundamental ideas, and impactful events in forming what will become the Jewish people.  Hard as it was to stay on topic, Rabbi Horowitz and his daughter, Ayelet, delve into the centrality of acting on our beliefs. When Abraham sees guests, he runs to greet and host them. Later, when God informs him of His plans to destroy the city of Sodom, Abraham debates with Him on behalf of this condemned city! Lastly, in the culmination of this parashah, Abraham is challenged with the seemingly impossible act of sacrificing his only son to God, and he follows through! What do you think?
