KSP #45 - Mistah Chante Talks About Being Nominated for a Na Hoku Hanohano Award
On today's episode, we have recording artist and Na Hoku Hanohano 2023 nominee, Mistah Chante, on the podcast! Mistah Chante grew up playing the ukulele before transitioning to playing on the keyboard. He would join his family in jam sessions when he was young, which introduced him to the music world. It wasn't until he went to the Mele Program where things shifted for him, and he really wanted to pursue music as a career. Fast forward to today, Mistah Chante is nominated for five Na Hoku Hanohano Awards for his hit song, "Next to You," and his new EP Ready. He is also nominated for the "Most Promising Artist" award since becoming a solo artist.

We talk about his reaction to being nominated for a Na Hoku Hanohano Award, his time in the Mele Program, the meaning behind his EP Ready, his recent tour, which artists inspired him, how we got the name Mistah Chante, and much more. MAHALO NUI to Mistah Chante for being an awesome guest on today's episode! Also, good luck to you on hopefully winning a Na Hoku Hanohano Award this weekend!

If you enjoyed this episode please, like, comment, and subscribe to the channel!
