It’s not something people openly discuss and certainly are not proud of.  In the Global Study on Occupational Fraud and Abuse, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) revealed that, while companies of all sizes are targeted by internal fraud, businesses with 100 or fewer employees lose almost twice as much as larger companies with a median loss of of over $200,000, That’s just the fraud part…not the inefficiency part which is often 3x that amount and which cripples Brand Growth. Who doesn’t want their brand to grow? People love brands. We all love brand growth. Branding strategy insider’s David stewart has an excellent wirting on Brand growth. He explains… the well known ways to achieve overall brand growth: increase the share you hold in the markets you are strong in; develop new products for those markets; extend your reach by finding new markets for your current brands; and develop new products that cater to new markets. When you run a business, you want to believe that no one on your team would ever consider stealing from the company. Unfortunately, life happens. Sometime goo dpeople make bad decisions.  And harmful ones to themselves, their families into the organizations brands that they serve. For example, think about the financial pressure that can happen to an employee when a loved one has mounting medical bills or credit card debt that has gotten out of control. They become desperate and otherwise good people make bad decisions. It’s also very common in today’s business environment is vast inefficiency. There’s a lot of poorly designed processes and safeguards to protecting an organization that are simply overlooked. When cash, Products and inventories, and even crypto currencies are involved proper ordering can avoid and illuminate what alternately becomes fraud.  An Olympic trained and former US professional tennis star originally from Belarus. Galina GUIDRY is the President of ICAF Consulting and has over a decade of experience in fraud investigation and actively teaches on the subject. The following is a lively discussion with her in the CCJ studio.
