Most people know of the story of ‘the spies.’ Most who have heard Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa before have probably even heard him refer to it as the ‘first recorded VOTE in history,’ too. And the wrong side won. THIS year, though, the story has a “special resonance.” It hits even closer to home than ever. Mark suggests that sometimes we see things in history and prophecy that “rhyme,” but on the ‘opposite half-cycle,’ where some things are almost a mirror image, or inverted. Many of THOSE people saw His miracles withe their own eyes; many of us have seen a different set of miracles, and grew up in – by almost any measure – the greatest, freest, even most prosperous and advanced, country in history.
