Markers in God's Plan: Isaiah 19 Explained

This chapter in Isaiah discusses both the destruction that will come upon the nation of Israel, as well as its triumph over its enemies. The chapter provides several markers of God's plan leading up to the establishment of Zion and the coming of Messiah: civil war at every level (families, neighbors, cities, and kingdoms). What is the root of this contention? The loss of the spirit guiding people, bad counsel (accidental or intentional?), seeking divine guidance from the wrong sources, as did Saul (1 Samuel 28:7).
