Mindfully Aware with Marta Magdalena
Jenn speaks to Marta Magdalena, co-founder with her husband John Tattva of Ashtanga Nilayam, Singapore. Marta’s journey took her from Poland, to being a former architect in Berlin running her own ashtanga yoga shala back in 2010 visiting India yearly to now residing in Singapore since 2018. She shares her early encounters with yoga, choices in career path, how meeting her husband was one of the boldest move she has made in her life, what her yoga path continues to teach her even through her entire pregnancy journey! (Recorded on March 22, 2022). About Marta:Marta is a dedicated yoga practitioner and teacher granted with Level 2 Authorization from Sharath Jois to teach Astanga Yoga. She has a daily self-practice of asana and meditation and almost 15 years of experience on the mat.Through her own history of injuries, Marta developed a sense of compassion and understanding towards the students with limited physical abilities. While working with athletes and clients from various sports' backgrounds, she learned how to incorporate the knowledge of human body and anatomy, to provide the students with healthy and personalized practice.Influenced by the spiritual teachers, among others Thich Nhat Hanh, BKS Iyengar and S.N. Goenka, Marta has been for almost a decade inspiring and motivating her students to change their attitude towards life through the disciplined daily yoga practice.
