Navigating Through Symbolic Loss
In Episode 8 of The Teaching Journeys Podcast, Dave talks with a local therapist, Suzanne Chabot about the work she does with individuals experiencing symbolic loss. We talk about symbolic loss, what it is and interventions that Suzanne has found effective with individuals requesting services from her.Suzanne's BioSuzanne Chabot is both a Registered Professional Nurse and Licensed Marriage Family Therapist. She is the founder of Heart in Hand Therapy, which she describes as : A safe and fertile ground for relational growth and transformation of the self.Most of her clinical experience has been in mental and community health. For Suzanne, the most rewarding time as a nurse has been working with inpatient psychiatric patients battling eating disorders as well as managing a clinic providing care to high need populations, including refugees from a variety of nations.As a therapist Suzanne sees couples and adults. She has worked with a wide range of clientele . Her areas of expertise includes relationship difficulties, navigating life cycle transitions, eating disorders and anxiety.
