We have no control over the world to which we are born. However, there are always lessons to be learned, as our special guest on this show confirms. Gary Todd is the author of “Annie’s Story” the tale of a tough childhood in Dundee, Scotland, but one in which his mum taught him the meaning of resilience. Gary also discovered Boxing in his youth and just as teh sport gave him something in his youth he has given back to the sport in his adult years. He has also written books on the sport, training with over 100 World Champions. Sometimes winning is not all about how you do in a contest. (www.garytodd.org). In our topics under discussion Ashley looks at a problem with the rules in hockey. With the finals due to reach their climax this weekend in Western Australia he airs his concerns that t6he interpretation of the rules is beginning to cause real issues within the game. Players, coaches and more importantly fans are becoming frustrated at the inconsistencies in officiating, and it is reaching a point where unfortunately such decisions may well influence the outcome of a match. What may be deemed good for the highest level of the sport is sadly clearly not working lower down. Once again we ask is it time for a revue? John turns his attention to World Cups, in particular the Rugby and Basketball World Cups. Will the Australian Boomers final standing affect their government funding, and who will win one of the most open Rugby World Cup’s in memory? “Not the footy show podcast number 122.
