One Hundred Years of Machen’s Christianity and Liberalism
On this episode, we discuss J. Gresham Machen’s famous and historic book, Christianity and Liberalism, first published in 1923. Joining us is church historian Darryl G. Hart, a noted Machen biographer and history professor at Hillsdale College. We set Machen in context, explore the rise and goals of theological liberalism, and explore a wide array of themes in American church history. To this day, Machen’s work remains relevant for orthodox Christians of all stripes, but especially to Protestant churchmen. You can find Hart’s biography of J. Gresham Machen here: https://www.thriftbooks.com/w/defending-the-faith-j-gresham-machen-and-the-crisis-of-conservative-protestantism-in-modern-america_dg-hart/907919/#edition=5256047&idiq=44304530 Participants: The Rev.
