Prayer is Where the Action Is

In Exodus 17, the Israelites face an enemy bent on destroying them. As Joshua led the army in battle, Moses sat on the hilltop holding the staff of God above his head. At first glance, Moses’ position makes no sensewhy wasn’t he in the fray? While the battle may have been fought on the field, victory was secured on the hilltop.
