Proverbs E10 - From Lust to Dust
On this podcast episode, Yemi and Philia discuss the importance of fighting against lustful temptation (Proverbs 6:23-33). We are warned of the consequences of falling for lustful temptation and we are given tips to avoid. Proverbs warns us that falling into and acting on temptation can result in great loss (destruction, dishonor). However, we are all humans and have lustful desires and Proverbs tells us that the onus is on us to avoid temptation, not that temptation will go away. Some tips for avoidance are (1) avoid people or places that tempt you, (2) be wise to discern when someone is using words of manipulation to tempt you and (3) focus on the word of God and take it to God in prayer. Let's encourage each other to avoid the pitfalls of temptation and not join the culture in celebrating it. "Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41
