Deut. 17:1–7
Jer. 7:1–15
Matt. 16:13–20
1 Cor. 5:1–13
In Matthew 16, Jesus speaks to Peter as one of the representative leaders of that Church, and gives to him “the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” What do these keys do? They open the kingdom of heaven to believers. They closed the kingdom of heaven to unbelievers. They are Christ’s keys, entrusted the Church, for the building up and protection of the body of Christ. In this sermon, we see what they are, and how they work.
