Robin Chu: The Silver Bullet of Education
In this episode Darren talks to Robin Chu, CEO and Founder of CoachBright, a social mobility charity on a mission to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to become confident, independent and resilient so they can lead the lives they want. Robin tells us the story of his humble origins, living in a small costal town in the south of England, soaking up his parents work ethic and drive as they served customers in their Chinese takeaway, to the culture shock of going to university. He reflects on when his passion for coaching was ignited and the moment he realised that there were young people like him that could benefit from the tool. Graduating as a MOE coach in 2015 he had ambitions to pass on his knowledge and discusses the challenges and failures along the way to his entrepreneurial successes. The thread that runs through this episode is the desire to help support the education system and how to support the young people of our future. If you are a parent or teacher listening to this podcast and would like to get in touch with MOE about how to learn coaching skills, please contact us at sue@moefoundation.com. If you would like to contact Robin about how Coach Bright can support your school or your child's school please contact the team at info@coachbright.orgInstagram @coachbrightukTwitter @CoachBrightUKFacebook @CoachBrightUKKey takeaways: If you have a good idea for changing the world don't worry about other people doing it, it's far more likely just not to happen if you don't do it! "The arc of the moral universe bends towards justice." Life is about actively pushing towards justice, not passively waiting for something to happen. You must do the bending!<br/>
