Rabeinu studied the entire 4 sections of Shulchan Aruch 3 times in his childhood, one time understanding the simple meaning, the next time understanding each law and how it’s sourced in the Gemara, and the third according to the secrets of the Kabbalah. Rabeinu emphasizes the importance of studying with speed, and in order. Even if we don’t understand a subject, move on and you’ll understand it later on. Its important to study reading the words out loud, and automatically you’ll understand. The main thing is to study as much as possible, covering as much ground as you can.Rabeinu wasn’t strict on reviewing studies. He said to study the book as a whole, and then go back and start again. One can even be a tzadik without knowing how to study.
