Skin Hunger
Dr. Dennis Hall discusses how God has fine-tuned the human body through the creation of our senses. He focuses on the sense of touch that is made possible by the neural receptors in our skin. All of the things that our skin can tell us about pain, temperature, injury, and textures is outlined. He then turns his attention to things that can go wrong with our sense of touch. Human beings are wired to be touched. Dr. Hall addresses what's psychologists call skin hunger and what happens when we don't experience adequate physical touch. He points out that there is another meaning to touch that's more than physical. It is emotional and spiritual. Many have had their souls touched by God's love and grace. The Scripture speaks of man having their hearts touched by God, and when Jesus was here he touched many including the eyes of the blind, ears of the deaf, the tongues of the dumb, and he healed all of them. The touch of God is an actual touch. It is a real connection. Dr. Hall concludes the podcast by pointing out how awesome it is to have your heart touched by God, and that you can experience this by being open and desiring the touch of God.
