Star Trek: First Contact
Captain’s Log: Stardate 50893.5
The Apocalypse Video Trek Cast is now nearing the end of this leg of its journey into the Final Frontier and what better way to close this loop than by watching the 1996 box office hit First Contact, a film which perfectly captured the poise and restraint of Capt. Jean Luc Picar—whoa, is that a borg?! Die you cyborg son of a bitch! Aggggrrhhhh!
Ahem. Excuse me. As I was saying, Star Trek First Contact perfectly captures the elegance and diplomatic spirit of Jean Luc Picard. I anticipate no issues on this assignment and am confident that the screenwriters will continue the adventures of the Enterprise in the same diplomatic spirit of the show–wwwwhhhhaaa! The Borg are back! Quick, grab a tommy gun and follow me!! We dine in hell tonight! Arrrgghhhhhh!!!!
I’m your Host and Captain, Dave, and joining me again are fellow Trekkies Mike and Jackie.
Topics of discussion in this assignment include the death of level headed, reasonable Picard and the birth of Action Picard; Data gets it on with a horny Borg Queen; and finally, Star Trek: First Contact answers the question of what The Next Generation was missing all along: Captain Picard shooting a Borg with a tommy gun - Rambo-style.
