Jimmy Owen has over 35 years of experience working as a psychotherapist, administrator, educator/trainer, and supervisor in Dallas, TX, Chicago IL, and Madison, WI. In addition, he has worked with the Dane County District Attorney's Office, Crime Response Team, helping victims and witnesses of violent and traumatic crimes.He was the first clinical supervisor of Legacy Counseling Center in the 1990s. He specializes in conflict resolution, mindfulness and is a Certified Daring Way Facilitator, focusing on the curriculum of Brene Brown and served as the Texas Regional Chair for Daring Way clinicians. Jimmy has been active in the LGBTQ community over the years serving on the Governing Board of the DFW Federal Club, longtime member of Razzle Dazzle Dallas, Contributing Writer for Our Lives Magazine and goodtherapy.com, Advisor for Mentor Development and Training, Walt Whitman Community School, longtime past member of the Dallas Independent Volleyball Association and Pegasus Slow-Pitch Softball Association and was once appoint by Dallas City Council to the Board of Trustees for Cable Access of Dallas. He met his husband, Jim Sherrill, in 2003 and was married in 2006.
