Dear Friends Becoming financially debt free is something we all crave. Not owing a bank or loan company or indeed anyone anything especially in the current economy climate is some achievement, something to be truly proud of. As Christians, we will never become totakky debt-free. The readings this Sunday, remind us that we will always be in debt with others. St Paul in the 2nd reading tells us that we owe our brothers and sisters love.Like Ezekiel in the first Reading, we will be held accountable for their souls if we fail to speak out and try to correct them if we on the receiving end of wrongdoing. Jesus in the Gospel gives us practical advice on how to do this. We should never correct out of anger or a desire to punish. Instead, our message must be that of today’s Psalm—urging the sinner to hear God’s voice, not to harden their hearts.
