The Hidden Potential: Careers in Multifamily Maintenance from an Inspiring Leader - Steve Hayworth, National Account Manager of Chadwell Supply
Join us as Steve sheds light on his philosophy of respect and equality for all team members, regardless of their positions. He shares how his upbringing taught him the values of kindness and respect, shaping his approach to leadership. Steve also shares his outlook on the untapped potential of the maintenance sector in the multifamily industry, a treasure trove of opportunities that often goes unnoticed by the public. He firmly believes that this profession is not just a job but an honorable calling, centered around providing safe and clean homes for all.<br/><br/>Steve Hayworth started in multifamily management as a groundskeeper in 1985. He quickly learned the industry by turning apartments and completing service orders. Steve worked his way through the ranks as Technician, Assistant Service Manager and Service Manager within the first year. He went on to be a Service Manager at several properties and was promoted to a Regional Maintenance Coordinator in 1998. After 10 years as a Regional, Steve was promoted to Director of Maintenance for a top 50 management company. In April 2022 Steve decided to move into the construction services group with another top 50 management firm but quickly realized this was not his niche. This is when he decided to come onboard with Chadwell Supply as a National Account Manager.Steve has his North Carolina State License for electrical, plumbing, mechanical and general contracting. He is a proctor for the National Pool and Hot Tub Foundation’s Certified Pool Operator course and for the EPA CFC certification. Steve has served on the board of the Triangle Apartment Association for two terms.Steve is happily married with five children and six grandchildren.
