The "Zoom Lift" w/Dr ROB SIGAL 💃🏼 The New you, NOW! Podcast
The New you, NOW! Podcast - Washington D.C.-based #cosmeticsurgeon Dr. Robert Sigal has created the "Zoom-lift," prompted by the number of his patients who dislike their appearance when video chatting. Common complaints include heaviness and sagginess of the face and neck, which is exacerbated by the angle you hold a phone in order to use tools like Zoom, WebEx, FaceTime or Skype. Dr. Sigal explains that in response to this rise in requests he has developed a liposuction procedure specifically to address these areas.

Constant video meetings with their bad lighting, unfortunate angles, and awkward crops expose traits that people never noticed before. Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Robert Sigal, who has created the "Zoom-lift," joined Host Rebecca Bennett to discuss how to look and feel better. Dr. Sigarl created the Zoom-lift after many of his patients shared how much they disliked their appearance when video chatting.

"Patients come in with their iPhones and show me how they look on video calling applications like Teams, Zoom, and FaceTime. The angle at which the video camera or phone is held, with the caller looking downward into the camera, really captures any heaviness, fullness, and sagging of the face and neck," said Dr. Sigal.

Clients have told Dr. Sigal, "I never knew I looked like that! I need to do something!"

He calls it the 'Zoom-lift' effect, and patients are noticing it on Zoom, Gchat, Microsoft Teams, and other video platforms. Dr. Sigal led the industry in developing procedures to address this issue back in 2012, specifically.

Dr. Robert Sigal is a board-certified plastic surgeon and a partner at Austin-Weston, The Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Reston, VA.
