The Richie Allen Show Monday June 12th 2023
Richie is joined by Philip Crawford.
About 10 million Britons own their homes through leasehold, and face having to pay extra charges for ground rent, service fees and leasehold extensions to totally unaccountable management companies. According to Labour Party MP Emma Hardy: “There is no one regulating these companies. They’re accountable to no one – even members of parliament find it very difficult to hold them to account for their bad practice.”
Shadow Housing Secretary Lisa Nandy has called it "a scandal hiding in plain sight."
It affects millions of people. Philip Crawford knows this only too well. A leaseholder cannot sell his/her lease unless the management company produces company accounts. Philip has pursued a management company through the courts for SIX YEARS. He has secured three convictions against directors but still has not received the paperwork.
