The Sin Nobody Will Admit To...
This last of Deca(10) is probably the most comprehensive and the one that we need victory over more than all. Covetousness. Coveting means desiring something that doesn’t belong to you. Coveting makes people greedy and causes them to steal. It drives people to kill, for their own ends. It gives rise to unbridled lust that can lead to adultery. It endangers mutual trust and causes people to lie to obtain what they don’t have – money, power, prestige or praise. This commandment is comprehensive to the others that God gives. Coveting affects every human life – both those who chase God and those that don’t. But Christ taught sacrifice and selflessness. Are you satisfied with just Jesus? Paul was. Only the Holy Spirt can restore our hearts to their intended balance. Complete surrender to the lordship of Christ will do.
