There’s A New Approach to Managing Ill Health and Mental Health Unwellness at Work. Here’s What You Need to Know!

Hi ThereWe hope your employment rights are in a healthy place. <br/><br/>This week we look at new guidance which was released by ACAS on 20th April 2023,  which aims to support you to get reasonable adjustments from your employer when you are mental health is a feature in your daily life because this duty already exists under the Equality Act 2010. But the guidance now asks employers to act when general unwellness and sickness also features in your daily life, which might not be considered for reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act.The new ACAS guidance is now in play and you can use the guidance to encourage your employer to take a broader view to making reasonable adjustments at work for you, when you are unwell - even if you don’t have a disability.  Remember… if you need help with this you can find all your support links at the bottom of the show notes for this episode; and, if you would like to book a consultation with us to look at bullying or abuse which you may be suffering at work or any other employment rights concern you may have, you can email us at employmentrightsonline@gmail.com.
